Ellenville has always known how to show up for its own, and this year’s Ellenville Regional Hospital Foundation Gala proved it once again.

From the moment the 217 guests stepped through the doors at Honor’s Haven on Saturday, October 3, the room hummed with warmth, generosity and purpose.

The band Soul City Groove got everyone dancing after heartfelt speeches honoring Matthews Pharmacy and the late Reverend Julius Collins. His wife, Vernice Collins, spoke in his memory.

The evening was dedicated to Reverend Julius Collins, a pastor of 30 years and longtime school board member. His legacy of service was felt throughout the room. Matthews Pharmacy, a small local pharmacy known for its excellent customer service, was also celebrated for its contributions to the community.

Friends, neighbors and local small-business owners — including Matthew Goldman, Tori Messner, Natalia Moena, Barbara Hoff and Harry Patel — were united by a shared belief that good healthcare belongs close to home.

Credit goes to Foundation Board Chairman Richard Bradford, as well as generous sponsors including JB and Linda Gillette, David and Holly Eikstza, and H. Osterhoudt Excavating. The volunteers, board members and staff whose hard work made the evening seem effortless also deserve recognition.

The hors d’oeuvres, open bar and excellent food drew rave reviews, while the dance floor stayed full until 11 p.m.

Above all, the Gala reminded everyone what a small town can accomplish when it decides something matters. The ERH Foundation is grateful to everyone who gave, bid, danced and celebrated.
